The vaccine in question (which is just one vaccine out of probably many) is created using cells originally derived from a single aborted baby in 1973. The cells themselves are not from the baby, and do not appear to be part of the vaccine itself.
I’m not sure if there is any Catholic teaching against such processes. Obviously the abortion was evil, but bringing good from evil is not wrong, and something God does all the time.
For people who want to be vaccinated, there will likely be other options available too.
And don’t forget we’re not ever morally obliged to boycott.
Sorry, that’s just nonsense… Lying is wilfully stating something you think to be false. Buying a product is not making a statement at all. If the vaccine doesn’t work (which is yet to be demonstrated), that’s fraud *against* the buyer, not something the buyer is guilty of.
The Gospel Reading from Mass today is from John 16:2: “They will put you out of the synagogues: yea, the hour cometh, that whosoever killeth you, will think that he doth a service to God.”
To kill Christians because they are Christians and you think you’re doing a service to God is a LIE to God and the world!!!
To boycott a product implies that you know or suspect something is wrong about it. So it would be a sin (which is a lie to God) to participate in something you know or suspect is wrong. However, buying a product is participating in a lie when the product is harmful when it supposed to be helpful, when it’s helping fund something or someone evil, or when it’s part of a conspiracy of lies EVEN IF YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING A SERVICE TO GOD!
Varicella (chickenpox), rubella (the R in the MMR vaccine), hepatitis A, and one preparation of rabies vaccine are all made by growing the viruses in fetal embryo fibroblast cells. Two combination vaccines available in the U.S. also contain polio vaccine virus grown in fetal cells, Pentacel® and Quadracel®. Fibroblast cells are the cells needed to hold skin and other connective tissue together. The fetal embryo fibroblast cells used to grow vaccine viruses were first obtained from elective termination of two pregnancies in the early 1960s. These same embryonic cells obtained from the early 1960s have continued to grow in the laboratory and are used to make vaccines today.†https://www.chop.edu/centers-programs/vaccine-education-center/vaccine-ingredients/fetal-t issues
There was definetly more than one aborted baby cell line used in vaccines.
Vaccines also have many other harmful ingredients: Formaldehyde (known to cause cancer in humans), Aluminum (known to cause brain damage), Mercury (one of the most toxic ingredients known to man), animal cells (link to cancers), Beta-Propiolactone(known to cause cancer and other problems), etc. AKA: Chemical soup. https://learntherisk.org/ingredients/
I am not a vaccine advocate. Simply a Catholic against the objectively false claims in the linked article (speaking of lies…).
As for boycotts, by that I mean choosing not to buy a morally neutral product (such as this proposed vaccine) because of a dislike or perhaps even objective problem with the seller (such as where they spend their money). I am also not condemning those who choose to participate in boycotts. But what they do with the money they justly earn is not something we are morally culpable for. If it was, we could not buy *anything* at all, since all products in one way or another are produced in a way that indirectly results in someone else providing support toward evil.
What false claims from the article? Did you read the other links that contradicted your original comment? Vaccines are not morally neutral products. That’s the point of the links I provided you. They don’t “justly” earn their money. It’s a con game.
Fake news.

It is not fake news, but your comment is. Yes, we are morally obliged to boycott since participating in a lie is a sin.
Buying a vaccine isn’t lying…
Yes it is. You’re participating in a lie.

YES, IT’S LYING AND YOU’RE WRONG!
I received an email with this reply:

Hey Tony
I remember you were asking about revolving against an unjust government.
