Note: The above article is a revised edition. I revised it because I wanted to be fair with Robert Siscoe who thought I misrepresented him. The original article had Siscoe’s name on the title. He asked me to remove his name and then threaten me if I didn’t. Out of charity I removed his name. His threats meant nothing as I told him over the phone.
Since then, Siscoe has posted a note of his own against me claiming: After Mr. Speray read the following refutation of his piece, he entirely re-written his original article and reposted it on his website.
This is not true. I didn’t entirely rewrite the article. I actually kept nearly all of the original. I had to change the following: THIRD ERROR: The automatic penalty of excommunication for clerics is in the internal forum only. Because Siscoe claimed he never said it. However, I have a witness who will testify that Robert Siscoe did in fact say it and then lied about it when I posted the article. Siscoe continues…
He provided his readers with no indication that he made any changes. In fact, he retained the original date. The completely revised article is now posted on Novus Ordo Watch with the original title and original date. This is this sort of dishonest tactic that causes many to doubt the sincerity and honesty of the Sedevacantists. The original version was saved by this author and is available upon request.) I have the original to prove it.
Siscoe was sent my revised version BEFORE he published his version and then makes these accusations.
Siscoe and Salza are big hypocrites who do what they denounce others for doing or what they falsely claim others are doing.
I have the original version of the article, too. I don’t take back anything I said in the original.
Since the publication of this article, Robert Siscoe wrote a reply titled “Answering a Sedevacantist Critic.” I wrote a response to his silly piece here:

Good article but it is simple how can a man be pope if he was never a true priest or Bidhop totally impossible since Vatican II you have a new religion Masonic and under lucifers control wake up sheeple Rome is gone and who ever is attached to there sins will perish but today few care about hell few care about this article for the wicked men are spitting out there false doctrines and remnant and CFN are going to answer for promoting this new religion especially that Protestants can be saved and the other elk of false religions so sad lucifers is controlling good men and he is laughing and they do not care
Sir, Few doubt that a heretic is automatically deposed. I find most of those I talk to wonder what difference it makes if the heretic is still in a position of authority while some others think him a heretic. I can accuse you of heresy and you may or may not be a heretic. How is it to be settled as to who and who is not a heretic except by the individual conscience?
Ronald Knarr
Speray Replies: Can you give me an example?
I don’t see how someone can not know who is or is not a heretic. If some Catholic denied Hell, or the divinity of Christ, or said the one true Church consists all denominations, he would be a heretic.
Perhaps, you can give me an example how someone can publicly deny the faith and not know that person is a heretic.
Mr. Speray, if you don’t mind my asking…what is your training in canon law and in theology?
SPERAY REPLIES: In reference to the article, I personally spoke with two canon lawyers on the issue, both of whom are Novus Ordo, one is a Doctor of Canon law. My training has nothing to do with it. I personally asked Robert Siscoe if he spoke to any canon lawyers whatsoever about his writings and he admitted that he hadn’t done so. The canonists with whom I spoke flatly rejected all of Siscoe’s arguments. Besides, I posted the official commentaries so that you don’t take my word for it. I hope you do the same, go ask any canon lawyer this question: If a bishop wrote a letter to the diocese that Jesus is not God, or Mary was a sinner, and then preached it that same Sunday, does that bishop still have jurisdiction in the Church? Siscoe says yes and will continue to have jurisdiction until warned and deposed by higher authorities.
To answer your question directly, I have no formal training in theology or canon law. I have spent literally hundreds of hours studying theology and canon law, and have been doing so for over 20 years. I’ve spoken to many theologians and canon lawyers. I’ve read every papal document in print (I think). I even once memorized John Paul II’s 1992 catechism. Formal training would be great, but it’s too expensive. However, you can be formally trained and still be wrong like so many Protestant theologians who carry doctorates. Just look at the great Suarez, Cajetan, and John of St. Thomas. All of them were seriously wrong.
I don’t expect anyone to take my word for it. Look it up, ask questions, and find out for yourself if I’m right.
That being said, I do have formal training in submarines, torpedoes, and missiles.
